Each community is separated by different roads, highways, and many historical places.
The five unincorporated locations are Drayton Plains, which is situated along the western side of Loon Lake and by Dixie Highway. The famous resort community Elizabeth Lake is situated alongside the lake by the same name. The third unincorporated community is Clintonville, which is positioned by Sashabaw Road and Walton Boulevard. Waterford Village is located on Andersonville Road and also right alongside the expansive Dixie Highway. Lastly, Four Towns covers both Cooley Lake Road and Lochaven Road. Like their name reads, Four Towns is in conjunction with Waterford, White Lake Township, West Bloomfield, and Commerce. Besides the lakes like Baldwin Lake, Clam Lake, Otter Lake, Mohawk Lake, Lake Oakland, and the many present lakes, Waterford Township has various parks, attractions, and local favorites.
